Senluna seasons
Like Earth, Senluna has four seasons though these seasons can be more extream then Earth's seasons. Each season lasts roughly three Earth months.
Frost season
Earth month equivalents: December, January, and February
Senluna’s elliptical orbit takes it away from the warmth of Kurysul in what is known as the frost season when the normally warm northern hemisphere of Senluna drops to below freezing. Snow even falls in the plains and forests. Plants die or go dormant and many animals hibernate. Ascalabotes don’t have to hibernate and live off the food they stored before the frost season.
Arctic Ascalabotes are the strongest in this season and are more likely to appear in breedings!

Week of lights
For an entire week in the middle of the frost month the sky is lit up by a bright array of colors, while it looks similar to the northern lights on Earth the lights comes from Senluna as all the crystals in the mountains start to glow and the ice crystals in the air reflect the colors across the sky.
This is a time of celebration for Ascalabotes as the hard seasons are close to an end.

Frozen Ocean
Within the first month of the frost season the ocean begins to freeze, at first it’s large sheets of ice that are pushed on land by the waves but soon it becomes a large ice rink that allows creatures from the super continent to travel to the islands or even the south pole however the ice doesn’t stay frozen for long.
Flood season
Earth month equivalents: March, April, and May
The flood season is when all the snow and ice melt into the ocean and aquifers causing a rise in the water table and eventually flooding. This is the only time the mountain streams that normally disappear into the ground as soon as they leave the rocks can flow unhindered into the sea. There is also a massive change to the tides as the gravity of Kurysul begins to draw Senluna back causing larger tides.

Events
Return of the water
A grand festival is thrown at the beginning of the flood season to celebrate the returning of warmer temperatures. This is also a celebration of new life and new beginnings.
There are a host of activities but a favorite among the young Ascalabotes are the mud fights where pigments are mixed into the mud by the basket full and the Ascalabotes take pawfulls to throw at each other.
Couples may also visit Ilearas who mix a light blue fertility drink, the ingredients of which are a closely guarded secret but it’s said to improve the chance of having pups in the coming year.

Dry season
Earth month equivalents: June, July, August
At its closest point to Kurysul, Senluna gets very hot. Even the south pole will feel the heat of the dry season though not as much as the northern super continent. Fires are likely in the plains and savannas and even the ocean seems to retreat from the shore. Unlike during the frost season, many Senluna creatures and plants remain active in the dry season, being better suited for a hotter climate though the creatures that depend more on water are less active.
Rainbow Ascalabotes are the strongest in this season and are more likely to appear in breedings!

Week of lights
A mirror of the frost season’s week of lights. This week comes in the middle of the dry season and signals the time to get ready for the harsh seasons.
Dark season
Earth month equivalents: September, October, and November
The dark season is named due to Pual, the plant that Senluna orbits, eclipsing Senluna from Kurysul though the planet is still close enough not to freeze over. The dark season is known as the first of the harsh seasons. Pual takes up more of the sky every day until for the second month of the season it has completely eclipsed Senluna, the last month of the season Pual slowly moves out of the sky but as it leaves the frost season begins.
Tree dwelling Ascalabotes are the strongest in this season and are more likely to appear in breedings!

The Intentem rise
From the darkest depths of the ocean, Intentems appear. These walking mountains amble onto land seeming to defy gravity. The Intentems slowly make their way from the ocean to the northernmost mountains, walking in an almost zombie-like trance until at the magnetic north pole of Senluna they collapse in a massive graveyard full of these giant’s bones. The reason for this deadly migration is unknown and a truly terrifying sight to behold. Though the Intentems are oblivious and as long as you don’t get in their path they are harmless, they are followed by scavengers who eagerly wait for a meal, some don’t even wait, taking bites from the Intentems as they walk though the Intentems never seem to notice.
Returning the stars
At the height of Pual’s appearance, Ascalabotes carve hollow cresce fruit into faces or shapes before lighting a fire inside and setting them out to light up the camp. It was once said that these lights keep the Intentems and the scavengers away.
