Anatomy
Moss prowlers live in the canopies of the cresce forests, using a shaggy coat of fur to blend into the moshkh that hangs off the branches of the cresce. They have strong jaws with gold-colored teeth and six eyes, their four legs have sharp, curved claws they can grab onto branches with or burrow holes in the cresce’s trunk to get at the water inside. Due to their jaws being adapted to open the cresce fruit, Moss prowlers cannot vocalize very well so they have evolved to have a second mouth on their tails that does the talking as well as holds onto food while the prowler climbs. Due to their arboreal life, most Moss prowlers don’t ever see the ground, however, they have gliding wings that are tucked into their mossy fur that can help them move between cresce or save them in the chance they fall from the tree.

Intelligence
Moss prowlers are decently intelligent, they are able to mimic most languages and often play tricks on lone travelers. They also have an eye for shiny objects and have hordes of random items hidden away in their main tree but they are willing to trade something of theirs if offered something else though being tricksters they may try to take the item and give nothing in return.
In the wild
Moss prowlers are a reclusive species that spend most of their time away from the ground. They live in small, close-knit family units.
For the most part, Moss prowlers don’t like confrontation so they often settle disputes easily with the largest prowler intimidating the smaller prowler.

Diet
Moss prowlers are omnivorous, they tend to eat cresce fruit and any small animals they can find. Their bite has a mild neurotoxin that while not deadly to the larger animals of Senluna is enough to disable the small animals.
Family
A Moss prowler family group is very close and often consists of many generations. A female can have up to four yippers every few years and the entire family will help care for the yippers until they are old enough to fend for themselves.
Adolescent Prowlers may strike off on their own to find a mate, many end up returning home after a few years but some only return to visit, establishing a new family unit in another cresce. As departing Prowlers remain in contact with their families this creates a forest-wide network of connected Quartets and so much of the activities in the forest do not go unnoticed.

Communication
Moss prowlers have a flexible papillae that allow them to distort the sound of their vocal cord to mimic the sounds and language of other species.
