Anatomy
Part of the Lanx order, the Delphakern shares many of the traits associated with the other species it is related to. They have a long lanky body with a pointed muzzle and notched mouth. They have two sharp cone-shaped ears on either side of their head with smaller inner-ears nestled inside the larger one giving them a total of eight ears. They have no visible eyes on their head and instead have two orbs at the tip of their tail that act as eyes. They are covered in a very fine fuzz with longer, scruffier fuzz running down their back and blending with a fluffy tail, some individuals may have more of a visible mane but on average it is not present. There is a row of sharp quills running down the length of their back, once again ending at the tail. Their legs are lanky with fluffier paws and they walk on their knuckles.
Thrallors are fluffier then adults and have bare paws. They only have one orb on their tail and they do not have a notch on their mouth like adults.

Intelligence
Delphakern are on par with most of their lineage, they are intelligent enough to communicate with other species but through mimicry instead of true speech. They are capable of making and using rudimentary stone tools but have not progressed to the level of intelligence of most Ascalabotes.
In the wild
Delphakern are mostly solitary, mysterious creatures however they will group together for protection against large threats. They are matriarchal in their groups with a trio of females leading against whatever brought them together, their mates are second with Delfaark that are completely unrelated to the lead trio being at the lowest of the hierarchy. kithani are highly territorial to other kithani and other creatures in the area. When a kitan is formed it may not ever break up and the Thrallors that are born within the group are raised within it with the males staying with the kitan their entire lives, females will leave when they become old enough to fend for themselves.
Diet
Similar to most creatures on Senluna, Delfaark are omnivores and are often scavengers more then hunters. They steal scraps from Ascalabotes and other large creatures, they also often steal from each other.
Expecting mothers will start to hoard food for her offspring.

Family
Delphakern do not have a set breeding season and can produce offspring at any time of the year, however they are commonly bred during the dark season. Females will lay up to four eggs and they are highly protective of their eggs. Both males and female Delfaark take care of the young after they hatch with the parent who stays back at the nest feeding the Thrallor while the other parent collects food. A Thrall typically will spend about ten years with its parents before going out alone, at this age they are typically large enough to hunt and defend themselves from predators.
In kithani a nanny system may be in place where the entire group helps to raise the Thrallor, however rank within the group determines what kind of assistance may be provided as the lowest ranks are often not helped with their Thrallor.

Communication
While mostly a mix of howls, barks, and purrs, many are also capable of some rudimentary speech and even have been able to pick up linguistic differences depending on the Ascalabote communities nearby.
